Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. The short version: we collect the minimum we need to run the service and we don't sell your data.
What we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. We use this to identify you, send you important information about shows you're involved in, and let organizers know who has registered.
Payment information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. We retain basic transaction records (amounts, dates, status) to support your checkout history.
Show and competition data
We store the data you create while using Showrunner: shows, divisions, entries, scores, and related content. This data is necessary to operate the service.
Technical data
Like most web applications, we log basic technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. We use this to maintain security and improve the service.
How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Operate and improve Showrunner
- Process registrations and payments
- Display competition results
- Communicate with you about your account and shows
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
Who can see your data
Show organizers can see the names and entries of competitors registered for their shows. Judges see entry names and scores during judging. Competition results (entry names and scores) are visible to anyone viewing a completed division.
We will not share your personal information with third parties except as required by law or as necessary to process payments through Stripe.
Data security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We follow standard security practices to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you'd like to delete your account and associated data, contact us. Competition results may be retained even after account deletion as they are part of the shared record of the event.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
